Application Process
Admissions Process
Welcome to The De La Salle School admissions page! We’re excited that you’re considering joining our community. Our admissions process is designed to be straightforward and informative, ensuring that you and your child have a clear understanding of what to expect. Below, you will find a detailed overview of each step involved in applying to our school.
1. Eligibility Requirements
Before beginning the application process, please review our eligibility criteria to ensure that The De La Salle School is the right fit for your child:
All-Boys Middle School:
The applicant must be a young man seeking admission into grades 5, or 6. We occasionally accept transfers into 7th or 8th grades depending upon the number of seats available. 7th and 8th grade transfers are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
All-Scholarship School:
Thanks to generous donors and benefactors, we do not charge tuition to our families as we are built to serve students and families who could not otherwise afford a Catholic education. Therefore, families must be under a certain income threshold to be considered for admission.
English Proficiency:
The applicant must be proficient in English, as our curriculum and instruction are delivered in English.
If your child meets these eligibility requirements, we encourage you to proceed with the application process detailed below.
2. Submit an Application
To begin the admissions process, you need to submit an application. We offer the application in two languages to better serve our diverse community:
Application for Admission - English
Solicitud De Admisión - Español
Please fill out the application form completely. If you need assistance or have any questions while completing the form, don’t hesitate to contact our main office at +1 (516) 379-8660
3. Provide Supporting Documents
Along with your application, we require several important documents. These help us get to know your son better and ensure that we can support his needs effectively. Please submit the following:
- Most Recent Tax Return:
Include a copy of your most recent Form 1040. This document helps us understand your family’s financial situation and eligibility for our scholarship program.
Child’s Report Card:
Provide a copy of your child’s most recent report card. This allows us to assess their academic progress and readiness for the next grade level.
- Records Release Form:
Complete and sign this form to authorize us to request and review your child’s educational records. This ensures we have the necessary information to support their transition to our school.

4. Schedule Meetings and Visits
Once your application and supporting documents are submitted, our school secretary will contact you to schedule a shadow day for your son, where he will experience a full day at TDLSS alongside students in the grade level he is applying for. At the end of the day, our principal and executive director will meet with you and your son to discuss his needs, any concerns, and questions you may have.
- Parent/Guardian Meeting: Arrange a meeting with our Principal, Mrs. Jeanmarie Becker. This meeting is an opportunity for you to learn more about our school, discuss your child’s needs, and ask any questions you may have. It also helps us understand how we can best support your family.
Shadow Day: Schedule a shadow day for your son to spend a day at The De La Salle School. This visit allows him to experience our school environment firsthand, meet potential classmates, and get a sense of our programs and activities.
